Viktig demo om Hvittrussland på torsdag. Alle i Bergen møt opp.

Hviterussland:

offended

A while ago a little Norwegian-born Muslim girl appeared in a debate on our TV. She told us about how deeply offended she was. I need to mention that she was clad in the Muslim traditional garb from head to foot, though she did not cover her face. She was offended three times: Firstly by the images of Mohammed, secondly by other people not understanding why she was offended, and thirdly by people looking at her askance in the subway. Brilliant! She was an inspiration to me - it's no good complaining about just one thing. It's too easily deflected or proven wrong. Lift your eyes and see it all.I think she was on to something. We need a Declaration of Injury. It is going to be a powerful Declaration! No more talk of Weapons of Mass Destruction, Democracy and Freedom - though they are still important, those arguments just leave out the really important stuff. We need something all-encompassing, a force to be reckoned with, a charter that can be applied anywhere and at all times. Burning and killing to the repair the damage done to people's feelings because of those cartoons just goes to show what a powerful drive injury is. Fathers are killing their daughters for wearing short skirts, kids kill their parents for throwing away their dope. They are offended and hurt, they are doing the only logical thing, the only right thing. Let us channel and reinforce this drive! "If thy right hand offends thee, cut it off", so sayeth the Christian Bible. Yes! and remember what the prophet Nike said: "Just do it!"Everyone may want to write their own list, or we may agree to have a public and a private part of the Declaration. The important thing is that it be long, inclusive, applicable to all aspects of life on earth. Go forth into the world with the Declaration in one hand and a knife in the other. Then pin the list on the chest of an offender, using the knife. We learned that trick from the killer of the movie maker Van Gogh. Rise, all ye offended ones! For years i have been offended, but I never knew what to do about it, now, thanks to that little Muslim girl I have been shown the path of righteousness!I am deeply offendedI am deeply offended by the shape of the Ferrari andI am deeply offended by phallus-shaped church spiresand by that idiot George Bush and his crew of neo-conservativesI am deeply offended by governments that break human rightsand by half-naked ass-wriggling video artistsI am offended by sales people on my telephoneand by foreigners coming here that won't adaptI am offended by rich people who won't be discrete about itand by poor people who try to appeal to my emotionsI am offended by cars parking on the side walkand people throwing litter out of their windowsI am offended by people who smell of garlic andby people who make noise, shouting in the streetI am offended by the strong that terrorize the weakI am offended by stupid people who don't even realize how stupid they areand by smart people who think they are better than anyone else.I am offended by people who interfere in other people's businessand by people who don't have any mannersI am offended by miscarriages of justice and byunfaithful wives and husbands,I am deeply offended by gas guzzling SUVsI am offended by the use of guns and bombsand by people who conceal facts and distort the truth, hiding their motivesI am offended by donors who expect love in returnI am offended by politicians who use history and religion to arguefor actions in the presentI am offended by people who argue for inequalityon the basis of religion and self-defined moralityI am offended by ugly things and bad designI am offended by clothes that can't be cleaned and shoes that can't be repairedI am offended by people who comment on my hair or clothes or classify meas this or that kind of a person.I am offended by people who repeat themselvesI am offended by athletes who think they can singI am offended by chewing gum and ketchupI am offended by drunks and dope addictsand by criminals who pretend they don't know right from wrongI am offended by people who don't know the difference between fame and infamy.I am offended by people who only speak one languageI am offended by people who make a fuss about things that are as well forgottenI am offended by people who repeat themselvesI am offended by sayings and the people who use them, thinking they are educatedI am offended by application up-dates and by new model yearsI am offended by mail boxes and bus stops that are moved unless they are moved closerI am offended by soaps and reality shows on TVI am offended by people who cut down trees without askingand by shops that suddenly stop selling the things I needI am offended by people who charge money for sending me a billand by people who abuse children.I am offended by collective punishment, by torture and terrorismI am offended by people who blame others and won't take responsibilityand people who think kittens, potted plants and aquariums are suitable gifts.I am offended by people who ignore people in needand expect to get paid extra for just doing their job.I am deeply offended by people who can't handle being offendedand tell others they should be offended, too
